THE FOUNDATION

We support the Dominican Mission of preaching, theological education, and the promotion of justice and peace by promoting vocations in the Order of Preachers (known as “Dominicans”). We also support the vocation of the artist and interfaith dialogue. To cultivate an appreciation for these important vocations, we host spiritual and art-related events that inspire the community to reflect upon the divine and the important contributions of the religious and artists in our culture.

The Colorado Dominican Vocation Foundation (CDVF) is a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization that was established in 1998. The CDVF promotes Dominican vocations by providing spiritual and financial support to the men (“novices”) studying to become brothers or priests in the Dominican Central Province of the United States.

The first year of study and discernment takes place at the Dominican Novitiate located at 2901 Grove Street in Denver, Colorado. The annual educational and housing costs associated with each of our novices is approximately $21,000. The long-term goal of the CDVF is to establish an endowment to pay, via interest income, the approximate $170,000 in annual operating expenses of the Novitiate.

The CDVF has successfully hosted a number of events in the community to encourage and support the vocations of the Dominicans and the vocation of the artist. The two primary events have been and continue to be the Fra Angelico Celebration of Art & Spirituality and the Windows to the Divine Collector Salons. The CDVF also seeks to affirm the vocations of the religious and artists by hosting retreats and special gatherings with these groups to honor and support their callings.

To support the work of the CDVF, please consider attending our upcoming events, making an on-line donation and participating in our donor programs such as Preachers & Partners, the W.I.S.H. Book Club Adoption and the St. Dominic Legacy Society.
